Every mom says it, but I really mean it this time… “I can’t believe you’re already a year, where has this year gone?”
Oh sweet Carter, where do I begin? If I’m honest, I’ll admit that I sort of wanted a girl when I found out I was pregnant with you. But once you were born, never, ever again did that thought cross my mind. You are more than we could have ever wanted or dreamed of, and life is just better with you around.
So what are your one-year milestones? Well you have taken a few steps on your own but are not quite walking. You are quite the chatter box, though, and have been since your first word at 10 months. Currently, you saying everything from mama and dada to baw (ball), baba (bottle), buh-buh (bye-bye) and mow (more). Oh, and your personal favorite… throwing something to the ground to yell, Uh-oooooh!
You love the “How big is Carter?” game, you love peek-a-boo, and you love waving bye-bye to your brothers as you head to bed each night. You love patty cake and can now hold up your pointer finger when we ask how old you are. Oh, and for some reason you think you are hilarious when you squint your eyes shut really hard. We always laugh when you do it, so I guess that’s why you think it’s so funny.
You continue to try to be a part of everything your brothers are doing. You continue to laugh as easily and generously as you did as a newborn. And you continue to be a highlight in our every day.
We love you sweet baby boy. Happy Birthday!
